Ep. 1: Introducing Strictly Facts

Strictly Facts is an educational platform created so listeners can learn more about Caribbean history through our art and music. The goal is to give you the facts, while connecting history, politics, and activism to contemporary music and popular culture.

Some of the topics we will be covering include the Black Power in the Caribbean, feminist movements, and Windrush. We have a lot in store for you! You can find us @strictlyfactspod on Instagram and Facebook and @strictlyfactspd on Twitter.

As the world gets more interconnected through social media, I thought what better way to share what I’ve always wanted to know and hopefully what others have wanted to learn in one of the most accessible ways possible: this podcast. And I’ve partnered with Kerry-Ann Reid-Brown of Breadfruit Media who has motivated me to see this as more than just a small hobby.

Strictly Facts provides that historical lens of the Caribbean, while still making history fun, and it will also amplify Caribbean women’s voices, something I am also very passionate about. Whether you are from the Caribbean, of Caribbean heritage, or are just interested in the region, we hope that you share Strictly Facts with your family and friends so they too can learn about the richness that is our Caribbean and join our community.

Don’t forget to listen to the podcast and check us out at  strictlyfactspodcast.com for more information from each episode and follow us @strictlyfactspod on Instagram and Facebook and @strictlyfactspd on Twitter. Feel free to connect with me on Twitter @alexandria_rm to let me know what you think and topics you want us to cover, and lastly, please listen, share, and leave a review to Strictly Facts.
